Spotlight on Summit’s Alumni Program!

It’s a great time of year for Summit Achievement’s Alumni Program, which is now being offered again for students who have previously completed our Achievement and/or Traverse programs. The Alumni Program consists of students returning to Summit and joining a current Achievement team for a flexible length of stay (anywhere from one to three weeks). Where possible, students work with their former therapist.

The Summit Alumni Program is a good opportunity for students to refresh their social, emotional, and academic skills before the start of the school year. Because they are in classes at least three days a week at our accredited school, it’s the perfect time to review class work that was challenging last school year, or perhaps to get a head start on classes that they know will be challenging in the year ahead. They are also challenged to step up as leaders in the community, which can be good practice for students who struggle with social/emotional issues at school.

Seeing Alumni come back to campus and step into being leaders is one of my favorite parts of the summer.  It always provides an opportunity to settle into the right mindset for returning to school, regardless of how the summer went.  This is often a great opportunity for students to come back to the touchstone of Summit, connect with beloved staff, and reconnect with a time when they felt happy and healthy, before beginning the rigors of a new academic year”.  -Nichol Ernst, Clinical Director, CEO, co-owner

Alumni who come back really enjoy the chance to reconnect with their therapist and other favorite staff members. The whole experience allows them to reconnect with the positive experience that Summit Achievement was the first time around. Summit is proud to be able to offer this experience to our Alumni and Alumni Families.
