Hiring Now: Field Guides
Who are Field Guides
Our guides are the backbone of our program. Guides provide supervision, guidance, mentorship, and instruction to our students throughout the week. Guides work in lockstep with our clinical team to facilitate group processing sessions, four-season adventure therapy, and oversee weekly clinical goal work. Guides also help to supervise and encourage academic work. As a guide, you will work on a team maintaining a minimum of 3-to-1 staff-to-student ratio. Guides serve as the liaison to the clinical and medical teams and are responsible for participating in weekly multidisciplinary treatment team meetings to review each student’s treatment and educational progress.
We offer both a 6-8 week primary treatment program (Venture) and a short-term therapeutic boarding school (Traverse, 2-4 months). Our guides will work with both programs, which means the ability to experience facilitating different levels of supervision and care. Unlike other therapy or adventure programs where similar positions are entirely in the field, our hybrid schedule offers variety: when working with Venture, guides spend three days on campus and four days out on expedition; when working with Traverse, guides spend five days on campus and two days out on weekend activities.
Multiple members of our leadership team, including our two co-owners, started their careers as guides. We recognize the importance of not only this position, but also strong professional development and support for our staff. The guide schedule is eight days on and six days off, with personal time and breaks built into each shift.
